Week Three. One Four Photo Challenge (December)

It is time for week three of the One Four Photo Challenge that is hosted on Robyn’s blog, Captivate Me. Basically, the challenge is to take one photo and edit it four different ways over the month.

For this week, I decided to go with a sepia look. Here are the step in Photoshop CS5 that I took to get my week three picture:

  • Applied the HDR effect to the photo.
    • Turned down the details on it.
  • Made a duplicate layer of the photo.
  • Applied the sepia filter to that layer.
  • Erased out the river area for the original colors to show through.

To compare, here are the previous week’s edits. Which do you prefer so far? Any ideas on what I should do for next week?

  1. Morning Michelle ๐Ÿ˜€
This is a wonderful combination of the sepia with the touch of colour.
I really like Carrie’s explanation here of your image too.
It’s just dawned on me – the wonderful perspective of this image – where were you standing to take this photo?
Next week might surprise you – I have no idea presently either ๐Ÿ˜‰ Good luck ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. The two tones are really interesting, I love how they look in the river, it makes it look like the riving continues even if the rest of the image is frozen in time. Really cool. You will think of something for week 4, that is when the magic happens ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I was just playing with the effect on low detail. It seemed to give it a more soft and dreamy look (at least around the leves). Its great to get feedback on it! Thanks.
