Time for week 4 for the One Four Challenge already! Time is flying by this year. For this week’s edit, I decided to go black and white and do a panoramic looking type of crop.
To get this look, I took the following steps in Photoshop CS5:
- Cropped into a panoramic looking style.
- Desaturated 100 percent.
- Applied the HDR effect so I could turn down the details and up the strength, giving it a softer look.
- Bumped up the contrast and brightness.
As a reminder, the previous edits are below. Take a look again and decide, which is your favorite? And do know why?
Which do you prefer?

Although this week’s B&W is technically the most outstanding, crisp and dramatic edit, my favorite is Week 3 because it’s so much more approachable and less formal.

I love how the images is framed this week. Great crop! And the black and white give the mosque the focal point which is so appealing. You did a lot with this image, great progression over the past month.

This week’s is by far my favourite. I love the panoramic and B&W, really suited to the image and it puts the mosque in the centre. Beautiful.

B&w is my favorite, the focal point is brilliant, the building draws my eye and the shading adds to it. Really lovely editing, nice progression from week to week.
