Shelter. In Art and Stone, the Sequel.

For this week’s Thursday Door Challenge, I thought I’d do a sequel. Last week’s door challenge post, sparked some conversation about the building so I thought I would post a few more pictures. I edited them in different ways as well to change the mood and look some.

The closed up building, which is labeled the Young Men’s Christian Association, really is grand though. It must have been something while it was in use. A shame it is all boarded up and abandoned. However, on the bright side, it seems to be providing shelter to a few homeless folks who sleep under the grand arched doorway (that you can slightly see in last week’s post). And, it provides the city with an attractive site to photograph at least. That is already more purpose than some city buildings that are actually operational with “helpful” employees. Huh. Go figure.

For Norm 2.0’s Thursday Door Challenge.

Check it out and join the fun.

    1. I agree. I don’t know what it would take to open that building up and make it a shelter, but it is worth considering. But then again, we are a lawsuit, crazy red tape world. I have seen food places throw out tons of food because the can’t risk donating it because someone could sue. Sad when all our rules and political correctness and lawsuits stop us from helping folks.

    1. Thank you. It is a grand structure and I only speak the truth on some of those other government buildings with employees. I think more purpose might just be happening here:) ha ha
