Elegance. Every Detail Matters.

19NOV

On a recent visit to Ohio, I couldn’t help but notice this elegant home. I loved the interesting shaped blue door, but I can’t lie, the rest of the house was pretty amazing too. Therefore, I figured I should show you the great door and entire house too.

  1. I have seen chimneys like that before. The whole house really goes well together and I love the color of the door. You know what they say about houses: you want the smaller home in a neighborhood of big houses, rather than the reverse.

  2. This is a beautiful house. Like Norm said, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an interesting chimney. It’s hard to tell in the picture if the door has an interesting shape or if it’s set into an interesting jamb. The reason I say that, is because I’ve seen (and actually made) rounded windows that where rectangular but set into a rounded opening. In any case, the door certainly compliments the house and this is a great find for the series. Good job!

    1. Good point! I wonder if the door jamb was the key. Maybe next time I am in the area, I should print out this post and comment and leave it in their mailbox and tell them my followers would like to see more. Who knows, maybe they will invite me in for more pictures!? Or…they could think I am a house stalker, lol. Nonetheless, the chimney is very interesting indeed.

  3. Wow, what a dump 😉
So much going on with this one but every detail has its place. Aside from the door my favorite element is the “twisted” brickwork on the upper section of the chimney. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
    Nice find Michelle.

    1. It was a grand house for sure! Kind of a bit of overkill compared to the neighbors. Guess they better step up their home design game there. [Just saying if you are a neighbor of this house.] Yes, I loved the twisted chimney too! It was something I had never seen and loved. I also liked the circular window bays and pointed steeple like roof…I am sure that has a name but I am drawing a blank on what that is at the moment. Funny how I am seeking out doors when I travel now. Soon, I am going on a few more trip. Maybe some more doors to come!
