In April, my boyfriend and I went off to Florida to celebrate his birthday. This was our second time there together. Our first time, was just days after our blind date. That though, is another story.
On this visit, one of the highlights was visiting the Saint George Island State Park. One side of the park has a long beach. The other side has an array of dunes, trees and marshes. The gallery below shows a little bit of our 5-mile walk one wonderful afternoon. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
It was windy that day and seafoam was literally rolling along the sand.
The wind seemed to be pushing the sand away from the shells, creating interesting lines in the sand.
The view of the bay side of the island.
I loved these!
The grass covered so much area.
In the top right third you can see a great horned owl that was watching us.
Along our walk, we found this little pond/puddle that was growing flowers in it.
A closer view of the flowers in the pond.
The “primitive campsite” was worth the 2.5-mile walk to get there.
Interesting stumps were around the small campsite beach.
The remote campsite was so private and beautiful.
I loved these tattered trees in the water.
I LOVE trees and these shots had me geek-like excited.
