Hands. We do so much with them. They help us express feelings, power and moments. They are an extension of beauty, expression and creativity.
Here are a few examples of just some of the things we do with our hands:
We talk and laugh with them.
“There is a brief moment when all there is
in a man’s mind and soul and spirit
is reflected through his eyes, his hands, his attitude.
This is the moment to record.”
~ Yousuf Karsh ~
We create music with them.
“Where there is devotional music,
God is always at hand with His gracious presence.”
~Johann Sebastian Bach ~
We show our love.
“When we love and make loving commitments,
we create families and communities
within which people can grow and take risks,
knowing that hands will be there to catch them should they fall.”
~Jonathan Sacks ~
We tell stories.
“My search is always to find ways to chronicle,
to share and to document stories about people,
just everyday people.
Stories that offer transformation, that lean into transcendence,
but that are never sentimental, that never look away from the darkest things about us.
~ Chris Abani ~
We discover the world.
“Map out your future – but do it in pencil.
The road ahead is as long as you make it. Make it worth the trip.”
~ Jon Bon Jovi ~
We care for our our children.
“Little children are still the symbol of the eternal marriage between love and duty.”
~ George Eliot ~
We give thanks & praise.
“When I pray, I feel close to my Father in Heaven,
and I feel His guiding hand in my life.
If there is one thing I have learned, it is this:
God knows us, He loves us, and He is waiting to help us.”
~Jane Clayson ~
