On a recent photography event, I came across this attractive barn door. I was drawn to its arched framing and contrasting colors. And, as an obsessed door fanatic, I thought, Man, this door is great for Norm 2.0’s Thursday Door Challenge.
However, doors like this are perfect for more than a challenge. They provide a backdrop for a whole range of photographs. Just take a look at all the different shots you can get from this door.
In setting up, someone moved the barrel. Thanks-a new shot for me.
The door makes a nice backdrop for the sign.
The outside view of the barn itself.
The rugged barn makes a contrast with the elegant dress.
Strength and elegance combine.
Different angles offer another view of the two contrasting elements.
The barn was THE location for the main event.
With the door open, the natural light filtered in as the party began.
The groom dances with his mom under the soft glow offered by the door.
The first kiss, and all in front of the elegant barn door.
The arched doorway offered the happy couple a grand entrance.
As the night came to a close, the warm glow of the reception made a romantic setting for the couple.
Even in black and white, the arched doorway, offered romance.

Well, I will have to give the credit to the bride and groom for find it for me:) However, now that I know it is there, I can visit again! And yes, they did such a wonderful job on those doors. Heck, the whole place was adorable.

I hope the builder of the barn and doors knows how much joy they are giving people. They are quite lovely! Thank you so much for the comment.

Great shots; who would have thought that barn doors make a great background for weddings.

They seem to be quite popular locations this year. The last few weddings I helped with were all at old farm/barn locations.

Terrific shots Michelle. A door like that, especially that size is not easy to build – some serious craftsmanship went into that.
I love the way you got so many uses out of it. The shots with the dress hanging on the door are my faves 🙂

These photos were great! Nice work, and I look forward to your other summer wedding photos. On a side note, I usually only find a barn door of use AFTER the horses are out… 🙂

Thanks! LOL-true. Barn doors are useful for those crazy horses. I know my horse will wander otherwise!
