A few weeks ago, I was on a rode trip to the fair with my boyfriend. Being the wonderful man that he is, he not only tolerates my photography addiction, but actually supports it.
This day was a perfect example. As we were driving along, he made a sudden change in directions. He spotted a lovely brick church with some grand doors. He thought they would be great for the Thursday Doors Challenge, which is hosted by Norm 2.0.
So we slowed down, and I took a couple of shots from the road. (He did offer to stop but him and I both know, if I started wandering around with my camera, we would only delay our arrival to the fair even more.)
Now, going the opposite direction of the fair, we had to go around the block to turn around on the really busy county highway. Fortunately though, our little trip around the block was just a discovery for a few more door shots from the truck window.
Now, I do wonder if anyone was in these houses and seeing some random truck drive by with a woman hanging out of the window with a camera. I would have to bet their first thought was not…oh, they must be photographing my door. Yeah, probably not.
Either way, they have some grand structures in that little town.
And just for fun, here is one more shot from that little trip around the block. It is from one of the churches. However, the shot didn’t really turn out well due to the power lines and pole. It was just too distracting. So, I played around with it to make it an abstract.
